Catherine Johnson entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 25 , 2026. She was surrounded by her children in her home in Laplace, Louisiana. Daughter of the late Robert Leflore and late Marcella Brown. Catherine was a native of Greenwood , Mississippi . She was educated in the Schlater Parish School System.

Catherine was united in matrimony to the late Rosevelt Johnson in 1955. Four children were born into this union : Doris Ann Leflore , late Rosevelt Johnson Jr. , late Linda Johnson , and Wilbur Donald Johnson . In 1960, Catherine was united in matrimony to the late Jimmy Johnson Jr. Five children were born to this union : late Tommy Lee Johnson , late John Westley Johnson , Cheryl Denise Johnson , Alisha Johnson Slack ( Samuel) , and Tammy Renee Johnson . She was the grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 32 great- grandchildren.

Catherine was a vibrant spirit that enjoyed serving the Lord, and sharing loving memories with her family. She was the sister of the late James Douglas , late Effie Ellis, late Lucille Brooks, late Rosalie Baker , late Eloise Leflore,late Emma Brown ,late Betty Brown , late Margaret Brown , and Missy Brown. She has a host of nieces , nephews, family, and friends.

Relatives, friends, Pastors, Officers and Members of the Oakland Baptist Church , Pilgrim Baptist Church, Fifth African Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service 11:00am on Saturday March 7, 2026, at Oakland Baptist Church, 825 Reverend Richard Wilson Dr, Kenner, LA 70062.  Rev. Charles Hurst Sr.-Officiating. Visitation from 10:00am until the time of service. Interment: Saint Rose Cemetery, 364 2nd Street, Saint Rose , LA 70087. Final Arrangements Entrusted to Patrick H.
